Rotary Club Launches New Rotary Year with Heritage Maintenance Program at Kalikasthan Temple

  • Kathmandu. Marking the beginning of the Rotary Year 2026–27, the Rotary Club organized a Heritage Maintenance Program at the historic Kalikasthan Temple in Dillibazar on July 1, 2026. The initiative reflected the club’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage while promoting community service and environmental cleanliness.

    The program was held under the presidency of Rtn. Sujita Adhikari Pokharel and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 26 Rotarians, 5 spouses, 4 Rotaractors, and one guest.

    During the event, volunteers carried out an extensive cleaning campaign within the temple premises. To support the temple’s long-term maintenance, the club donated sanitation materials worth Rs. 5,000, including a 20-meter water pipe, two buckets, mops, detergent (Surf), and other essential cleaning supplies.

    Speaking on the occasion, President Rtn. Sujita Adhikari Pokharel emphasized that Rotary’s mission extends beyond humanitarian service to the preservation of cultural and religious heritage. She expressed hope that such initiatives would inspire greater community participation in protecting public and heritage sites.

    The Heritage Maintenance Program set a meaningful tone for the new Rotary Year, reaffirming the club’s dedication to the Rotary ideal of “Service Above Self” through sustainable community service and heritage conservation.
